Byrne Luft - Director

Vice President, MANPOWER, Alberta

Passionate about the people side of business, Byrne is adamant that a diverse, empowered workforce leads to greater profitability. Under his leadership, the Alberta franchise of MANPOWER International - one of the world's largest recruitment and staffing firms - employ a diverse workforce of approximately 120 internal staff and deploy 7000 more to client sites each year. Byrne has been with Manpower for over 10 years.

Byrne works closely with government agencies, professional associations and the community to unravel the labour market challenges. Some projects include policy on Foreign Credential Recognition, Diversity and Acceptance, Workplace Productivity, Employee Engagement, Immigration and Migration, Employee Wellness, Health and Safety and to create awareness around the Multi-Generational Workforce. Recognizing that Canada is falling behind its competitors with respect to attracting workers, Byrne assists government and non-government organizations on advocating changes to the status quo in order to help his customers win the global war for talent. Byrne has been driving the focus on creative recruiting and retention strategies such as how technology and trends play a role in attraction and retention. Known for innovative workforce development, MANPOWER was approached by the provincial and federal governments to address Canada's skilled labour shortage. The result is TechReach, an employee-driven, technology-focused, entry-level training program targeting unemployed and underemployed individuals. TechReach's solid rate of success is setting a new standard for workforce training.
