
Peter Menzies was at the Calgary Herald for 16 years, serving in a variety of writing, editing and executive management positions. Prior to taking on his duties overseeing the operation of one of Canada's leading newspapers, he held the position of Editor in Chief for four years. Before this, Peter was at the Calgary Sun for seven years, for a total of 23 years in the Calgary newspaper business. Mr. Menzies has received numerous journalism awards, most notably an Association of Opinion Page Editors honor for essay-writing and a National Newspaper Award for coordinating a series notable for its depth and its balance. A native of western Canada, Mr. Menzies graduated from Acadia University in Nova Scotia and studied journalism at the University of Victoria. He is a member of Priddis Greens Golf Club and serves on the boards of Theatre Calgary, Calgary Opera and the Midnapore Hockey Association.
